Why did I write this book?
I was inspired to create a children’s book that celebrates the diverse contributions of women physicians. My journey to writing this book was deeply personal, rooted in my own experiences as a physician and a mother.
Reflecting on my career in medicine, I realized the profound impact that representation has on shaping aspirations and dreams. However, it wasn’t until I became a mother to my daughter that the importance of representation truly hit home. I wanted to show her a world where she could see herself reflected in all spaces, including the field of medicine.
“ABCs of Women in Medicine” is not just a book—it’s a call to action. It’s a testament to the countless women who have shattered barriers and blazed trails in medicine, and a reminder to future generations that they too can achieve greatness in any field they choose.
